From an 1870s sketchbook of works by the nineteenth-century artist, Bosworth Harcourt. Forty-two pen & ink or pencil drawings and watercolours, mostly mounted on album leaves, but some loose. Includes book illustrations (Longfellow, Tennyson, Shakespeare, Dickens, Gray, Wordsworth); genre scenes; landscapes, including one of Norwich; cartoons; and a drawing of a rustic figure standing beneath a telegraph pole watching a steam train go over a viaduct. Most initialled and dated. Preliminary blank with contemporary pencil inscription 'Original Drawings by Bosworth W. Harcourt Norwich, All Contributions to a Drawing Society in Norwich.'
