Artist Biography
Bob Buys (1912-1970) was an oil and watercolour painter born in Amsterdam. He painted a wide range of subjects, from portraits and interiors to landscapes and harbour views, and worked in Amsterdam, Paris, Brittany, and the south of France. Taking inspiration from Figurative and Impressionist artists such as Marquet, Matisse and Bonnard, Buys focuses on capturing the vibrant colours of his surroundings and the effects of light.
