Description

A refined Biedermeier-era portrait of a noble lady in a white silk gown with an embroidered lace fichu and gently puffed sleeves, complemented by an elaborate lace-trimmed bonnet; she holds a Bible that subtly underscores her devotion. Condition

Some discolouration to the surface. Fine craquelure and light abrasions throughout. The artwork has been previously restored, notably to the sitter's nose.
