A charming Biedermeier-era miniature depicting a refined gentleman wearing his finest attire, including a silk bow-tie and a glittering gold ring. The gentleman holds a small piece of paper bearing the date "1837". Unsigned. Well presented in an ornate gilt frame. On paper.

Condition

Some loss of paint to the left and lower edge. Light discolouration to the paper. Overall the artwork remains in good condition for its age. Wear to the frame, including chips, scuffs and stable cracking. Overall the frame is also in good condition.
