Betty Connal Peebles

Betty Connal Peebles (1935-1999) was a printmaker and painter. She studied at Atelier 17 in Paris, where she lived for many years. Her work is charismatic and warm, with an edge typical of the mid century modern period. She showed in a painting exhibition at the Woodstock Gallery in 1965 and in a French exhibition organised by the art dealer Anthony Dawson in 1986. Connal also had two solo exhibitions of paintings at Woodstock Gallery, and eight of her works are held in the Government Art Collection.
