Artist Biography
Although brought up in Warwickshire, Berrisford Hill spent his school holidays on his uncle’s farm in Leicestershire, learning about nature and the countryside.
He studied for five years at Winchester and Southampton University, obtaining a degree in art. Berrisford taught art and painting for twenty years, exhibiting work in his spare time. In later life decided to become a full time artist.
Berrisford Hill’s first exhibition as a professional painter was at the CLA Game Fair at Stowe. It was here that he showcased his particular interest in game birds and became better known for his wildlife paintings.
