Benjamin D. Sigmund (1857-1947), was a genre and landscape painter, mainly in watercolour. Sigmund was born in London, and according to census records, lived in several parts of the home counties and Devon, prior to his death in Barnstaple, Devon in 1947. He was prolific artist and exhibited widely, however, little is known about his life.
He exhibited 31 paintings at the Royal Academy, 25 at the Royal Society of British Artists, 34 at the RI, 17 at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool, etc. Between 1880 and 1893, he exhibited 85 paintings at London Exhibitions, according to Grays Dictionary, which terminated in 1893.
