Artist Biography
Barry Owen Jones was born in Highgate in 1934 and grew up in North Wales during the Second World War. He returned to London in 1946 and was educated at Barnet Grammar School. He studied art at Hornsey College of Art and gained a National Diploma in Graphic Design. He worked in London in advertising and publishing, and then moved to Guernsey in 1974, where he began painting and etching. He founded the Coach House Gallery in 1975. He was elected a fellow of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers in 1982, an associate of the Royal Watercolour Society in the same year, and a full Member of the Royal Watercolour Society in 1986.
