A rustic oil view of Old Widcombe Church on the hills surrounding the city of Bath in England. The muted palette and naive style make this a thoroughly charming object. The Painting has been presented in an equally charming carved frame, with delicate columbine flower strap work and a gilt finish. There is a label at the reverse with information about the painting. Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and general surface dirt. The frame has small losses to all four corners and some tarnishing to the gilt. There is a small chip to the gilt at the upper left corner of the inner window.
