A contemporary miniature painting of horses pulling a cart to market after William Shayer (1787-1879), closest in likeness to his painting 'The Timber Wagon'. Presented in a gilt-effect wooden frame. Unsigned. Label to the verso which includes the title. On panel.

Condition

In fine condition. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration.

Artist Biography

Barbara Valentine RMS is an internationally renowned and award-winning miniature painter. She has featured in several books on miniature painting and regularly exhibits work in London and the USA.

She trained at Goldsmiths College, School of Art, London, and today is one of only a handful of miniature painting tutors in the country, holding classes in Mountfield, East Sussex. She is a member of the Royal Society of Miniature Painters, Sculptors, and Gravers.
