Artist Biography
Painter who was born in Uxbridge, Middlesex and who studied at Ealing School of Art, 1940-45 where her tutors included John Nicholls, and at Wigan School of Art 1945-46. She furthered her studies under Peter Coker at St. Martin's School of Art, 1957-58. A prolific exhibitor she has shown at the RA, RP, ROI, RBA, NEAC, RMS, RI, SWA, the latter of which she was elected President in 1986. Her painting was awarded a Gold Medal at the 1969 Paris Salon exhibition. She was married to the painter James Tate.
