There is some slight debris trapped beneath the glazing and some scuffs to the frame. There are two faint cracks to the paint layer in the upper-right corner. There is some stable craquelure to the painting and a faint line at the lower edge, likely caused by a previous frame. Overall well-presented and in very good condition.

B. Bronte was for many years confused with Patrick Branwell Bronte, the artist brother of Charlotte, Anne, and Emily Bronte. This B. Bronte may well have been distantly related to the literary Brontes, but Branwell habitually signed his work, 'P. B. Bronte', or just 'P. B.'. The known paintings of B. Bronte are invariably landscapes, often from Northumberland and Wales.
