A vibrant life study with areas of heavy impasto, on card. The expressive brushstrokes and vivid colour palette is typical of the neo-expressionist movement, popular during the 1970s. Well presented in a modern frame with marbled effect detailing. Signed and dated.Condition
The backing card has warped a little. Overall the appearance is very good. With a few light surface scratches to the edges of the frame.

Artist Biography
Painter, who attended Camberwell School of Arts & Crafts, 1949-53 studying under Bernard Dunstan and Richard Eurich. Erroneously shown in some dictionaries as having died in 1960, he has probably been confused with the Canadian artist of the same name. He has exhibited at numerous mixed exhibitions including the RA, RSMA and NEAC the last two of which he is an elected member. He has also shown his work extensively in the United States of America, France and Canada and was for many years Director of Art at Shrewsbury School. Reading Art Gallery, Shrewsbury Museum and Shropshire County Council hold examples of his work.
