Description

A beautifully presented watercolour in a washline mount and gilt frame with beaded detailing. Label on the reverse attributes the work to Alexander Cozens (1717-1786) and gives the provenance of a private collection in the UK- "A View of a Ruined Castle above a River. Watercolour on laid paper, watermarked with fleur-de-lys in a crowned circle." Stylistically the picture could be by Cozens but we have no way of confirming this. Unsigned. On wove.
