A comical sketch of a Jolly Innkeeper captured alongside other characters. Attributed to political cartoonist and caricaturist William 'Bill' Papas (1927-2000). The artwork has been well-presented in a decorative gilt-effect frame with elaborate acanthus ornamentation. Fixed to the reverse of the frame is an extensive label of biographical information about the artist. Unsigned. On paper.Condition
The artwork is in good condition. There are a few light marks the the picture white mount and the gilt-effect frame has a small moulding loss to the upper right corner.

Artist Biography
William "Bill" Papas was a political cartoonist and caricaturist, book author and illustrator, and watercolourist. In the 1960s and 1970s he worked for The Guardian, The Sunday Times and Punch. His work has won international acclaim and is included in many private and corporate collections around the world.
