A mesmerising watercolour study showing Norwegian mountain crags, scaling into white clouds. Also captured within the scene is a stalking heron, perched in the rocks, right of the valley falls. The watercolour has been well presented in a large gilt frame with fluted cove and patterned mouldings. Fixed to the reverse of the frame is and extensive inscription noting the artist. Unsigned. On paper.
Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. The watercolour looks to have been previously cleaned. The gilt frame is in a good condition with minimal but some moulding losses.
