Artist Biography
Sylvan G. Boxsius (1878-1941) was a painter, illustrator, and printmaker. He trained at the Studied at the Royal College of Art and later taught at the London County Council School of Photography, Engraving and Lithography. He exhibited at the Society of Graver-Printmakers in Colour from 1930 to 1937. Indeed, it is his colour prints that he is best known for, which he executes in a style influenced by traditional Japanese printing methods.
