A fine oil painting attributed to the artist Peter Greenham, depicting a portrait of a seated woman gazing away from the viewer. To the figure's side is a flower vase with two red roses. The thick brushwork and colour palette highlight the expressive nature of this scene, as well as illustrate the artist's proficiency in the medium. Well-presented in a gilt effect frame. Unsigned. Overall in very good condition, with minor paint loss to the edges. Some light wear to the frame, including minor scuffs. Inspection under UV light reveals no signs of restoration.

Artist Biography
Peter Greenham RA (1909-1993) was portrait and landscape artist who studied at Byam Shaw School of Art under Ernest Jackson. Greenham became a schoolmaster, and later obtained a degree in English from Oxford University.
