This detailed watercolour, attributed to John Anster Fitzgerald (1832-1906), captures the moment a charming cavalier helps a lady across a wooden stile. The scene has been beautifully presented in a distressed gilt frame with a crisp white mount, and retains provenance from a previous sell direct from the artist's family and by descent. On paper.
Condition
their is a light crease running horizontal through the centre of the painting. A few scuffs and chips visible on the frame and a single stain on the left side of the mount.
