In this delicate oil painting, a peaceful blue sky glows over a warm country day. The artwork is faintly signed along the right-hand edge and bears various faded inscriptions on the reverse. A note affixed to the reverse states that the artwork is one of Brown's, but we cannot be sure of the provenance, hence the attribution.
On canvas on stretchers.
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. Some restoration to the paint surface has been completed along the far left and right of the mid section. There is some craquelure to the surface.
