An evocative mid-19th century seascape, attributed to James Edwin Meadows (1828-1888), depicting fishermen hauling in a net from a small sailboat. Soft light pierces through grey, brooding clouds, casting shimmering reflections across the water as the shoreline stretches into the distance. Unsigned. Well presented in a decorative burr walnut frame. On board.Condition
Notable scratches to the surface, particularly to the left edge. Please see photos for reference. Fine craquelure throughout. Wear to the frame including chips, abrasions and indentations throughout. Notable scratches to the right edge of the walnut veneer.
