Franz Barbarini (1804-1873) was an Austrian landscape painter, engraver and etcher. He studied from 1824 to 1826 at the Vienna Academy in the sculpture class, and continued under sculptor Josef Kempel. After initial engraving, he turned to landscape painting, and took many study trips through the Austrian and Swiss Alps to produce realistic oil paintings, watercolours, and drawings.
