Description

A fine late 19th/early 20th century watercolour attributed to the British painter and illustrator Edith Hume (1843-1906). With body colour details, depicting two young girls strolling along a rural path, holding pink and yellow flowers. This well-balanced composition is illustrative of the artist's proficiency in the subject and medium. Monogrammed to the lower left-hand corner 'E.H.'. Well-presented in a double washline card mount and in a simple gilt effect frame. On watercolour paper.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and very light foxing. Some minor losses and scuffs to the frame.
