This visually appealing portrait of a young boy atop his grandfather's shoulders is wonderfully crafted. The blue colour palette is contrasted by flashes of orange hidden amongst the composition, creating a bold and modern study. The kindly face of the old man peeks out from behind a very fine moustache while the young boy gazes out at the viewer. Well presented in a painted white wood frame. Inscribed with the artist's name on the reverse. Unsigned.
On board.Overall the condition is good. There are some very fine surface scratches but overall in fine condition. There is some craquelure. Inspection under UV light shows no sign of restoration.
