Charles Smith Varley (1811-1888) was a watercolour painter. He was the son of artist John Varley (1778-1842). Charles Smith Varley exhibited in London from 1839 to 1869, showing thirty-eight works at the Royal Academy, four at the British Institution, and twelve at the Suffolk Street Gallery.
