A charming oil on board of parkland using impressionistic brush strokes and aspects of impasto to create an alluring scene. It is well presented in a cream mount and gilt effect frame with a label to the reverse of the board with the artists name. Unsigned. On board.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some even discolouration. There is a small area of paint loss to the middle section in the sky and some rough edges to the board.

Artist Biography
Arthur steward born in 1909 and lived in London, he studied at the Regent Street Polytechnic School of Art and Hornsey School of Arts and Crafts. Mackay was most known for his oil portraits and landscapes and showed many works at the RA, RBA, ROI of which he became a member in 1949.
