Description
A wonderful interpretation by Arthur Rowlands (1904-2000) of Eugene Boudin's 1865 painting 'Beach House with Flags at Trouville'. The painting depicts a group of people seated on the beach with parasols. Known as one of the first 'en plein air' painters, Boudin was introduced to outdoor painting by Monet and the pair worked together for periods of time in the 1860's. Unsigned. Presented in a gilt frame. On panel.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There is some craquelure to the surface.
