A wonderful Scottish landscape by the artist Arthur F. Allwright. After a 19th century engraving drawn by John Preston Neale and engraved by E. Byrne. Ochtertyre house can be seen a the upper right, while the family Mausoleum is depicted at the centre of the composition. Well presented in an ornate gilt frame. Inscribed on the reverse. Signed and dated. On canvas on stretchers.
Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and craqueleure. Inspection under UV light reveals no sign of restoration. There are minor marks and losses to the frame. With some chips to the moulding at the upper left corner.
