Painter born at Herne Bay, Kent the eighth child of a Doctor. The 1891 census records him as an 'artist, painter in oil, portrait figures, landscapes, and instructor in freehand drawings in the Royal Naval College, Greenwich, Civil Service appointment Admiralty' although nothing is known of his art training. Hunt specialised in genre and landscape and showed at the RA, RBSA, MAFA, RE, RHA, RI, Ipswich Art Club and at the Dudley Gallery Art Society. Paintings by Hunt are in the collections of the BM, Colchester and Ipswich Museum Service, Guernsey Museums and Galleries and the NMM.
