Artist Biography
Welsh painter born in Aberdare and brought up in Gorseinon, where he worked as a collier. Archie Griffiths attended Swansea School of Art and then went to the Royal College of Art, graduating in 1926. Welsh Art historian Peter Lord has recently posited his work within academic discussions of Welsh visual culture. His oil painting 'Miners Returning from Work' is owned by the National Library of Wales.
