A crisp and accurate rendering of the Mermaid Inn in Rye. The artist has signed and dated to the lower right corner and the painting has been presented in a wood and gilt effect frame with wash-line mount and glazing. The artist has inscribed to the reverse.  On watercolour paper.

In fine condition. Some debris trapped behind the glazing.

Artist Biography

Started painting in early teens winning gold and silver medals at Glasgow Art Gallery schools competition. First exhibited work publicly at Ayrshire Artists exhibition while still a teenager. Painting mainly in watercolour, though occasionally in other media. Subjects include landscape, marine, architectural and occasionally abstract topics. He has exhibited and sold his work in London at the open exhibitions of: The Royal Watercolour Society The Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours The Royal Society of Marine Artists The Chelsea Art Society United Society of Artists Currently a Member of the Society of Graphic Fine Art where he exhibits his work annually in London. Locally a member and Past President of The Croydon Art Society.
