Artist Biography
Illustrator born Robert Antony Lake the son of an engineer in Chalfont St Giles, Buckinghamshire. Lake studied at St. Martin's School of Art and subsequently contributed illustrations to magazines, including Illustrated London News and ‘Advertiser’s Weekly’ and The Eagle comic. He also illustrated several books, some of which are mentioned below. He also designed posters for London Transport and worked as a painter, exhibiting at the Royal Society of British Artists.
