Description

A delightful watercolour study by French artist Antoine Calbet. The scene depicts two ladies reclining in a stately garden in high summer. There are surrounded by roses in full bloom and a country manor can be seen in the far distance. The artist captures the scene in an impressionist style using gestural brushwork and a soft palette to portray the beautiful summer's day.

Signed to the lower right below the mount. Presented in a very fine Empire frame with palmette running pattern.

On paper.
