This intimate study by listed artist Anthony Devas (1911-1958) depicts a nude female figure seated in a relaxed pose against a backdrop of draped fabrics. Devas has paid particular attention to the interplay of warm flesh tones against the vibrant textiles in primary colours. The composition is well presented in a wooden frame with gilt accent. Condition
A small canvas tear has been previously repaired verso. Inspection under UV light reveals retouching to the front (lower right). Light dirtying/marks to the wooden frame. The overall condition of the artwork is very good.
