A nude portrait from English artist Anthony Barnard Harris, depicting a young woman with black hair in Harris' naive and expressive style. Completed in ink, and graphite. Inscribed on the reverse with the title and list of mediums used by the artist. Also with a label for 'Madeleine Shaw Publishers' on the reverse. Signed and dated. On wove.

Shows mount burn, otherwise in fine condition.

Artist Biography

Painter, who studied at Reading University and then went onto study Art History at the Courtauld Institute of Art. He became Principal of St. Albans School of Art, 1967-75, and Vice-Principal of Chelsea School of Art, 1975-86. In 1982, he was elected Master of the John Ruskin Guild of St. George. 1986 saw him appointed Head of Camberwell School of Arts & Crafts and Assistant Rector of the London Institute. Harris has exhibited widely in London, the provinces and in Italy.
