Anna Redwood ROI (b.1967) was born in Folkestone. As the daughter of an Army officer, much of her childhood was spent living abroad in Asia, Africa, and Europe. She studied at Newcastle College of Art followed by the renowned Cecil-Graves Academy in Florence, Italy. Redwood works mainly in oils on board and on canvas from preliminary charcoal sketches. She is also a sculptor, primarily working in clay to produce in bronze. Redwood enjoys an established artistic reputation with a particular focus on portraiture and military subjects. She is a member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters.
