Ann Geary - Original 1790 Embroidery. Silk embroidery of a young woman with a dog. Inscribed verso "Ann Greary's work, 1790." "My own dear Mother, John Burton" and "Given by cousin Mary Anne McEwan to M. S. Beale in Nov 1917. She said it was worked by her grandmother." Inscribed and dated. Condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and minor tear to the fabric in the upper left. Cracks and wear to frame as shown. Frame backing is loose.Size
