Condition

Deckled edges to the paper. The artwork is in fine condition. Minor indents and dirtying to the mount; however, the overall condition is very good.

Artist Biography

Printmaker, painter and author born in Burnham, Buckinghamshire, the daughter of an army officer. She studied at Chelsea School of Art and Camberwell School of Arts & Crafts. Self-taught as an engraver, much of her work is held in the archive of the National Library of Scotland. Her work has been reproduced in many publications and she has worked in collaboration with the internationally known fine art publishers Old Stile Press and the Folio Society. Her solo exhibitions included such venues as The Open Eye Gallery, Edinburgh, and she also took part in many group shows at Katharine House Gallery, Marlborough, Edinburgh College of Art, The Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh, DLI Museum & Durham Art Gallery, and group shows with the Society of Wood Engravers and Biennials in Switzerland, Belgium and Italy. Lemaire lived and worked in Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders.
