Alice M.A. Baumgartner appears to have belonged to a small group of artists who shared comments and criticisms of each other’s work. Each had a nickname, hers being ‘Care’, and others went under names such as ‘Boots’, ‘Pig’ and ‘Crumpets’. Some of the drawings have comments from others in the group inscribed on the reverse.
