Description

A wonderful example of Lawrence's skill as a draughtsman, this study of a pretty little girl in a new pink dress displays his confident mastery of line work. The deft lines of the girl's legs and arms and the economy of line in the child's faces add mystery and flare to this wonderful study. Rendered in a mix of graphite and gouache, this piece has been presented in a vintage wood frame with an off-white mount. On wove.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including discolouration and areas of dirtying. The paper has heavy creasing to the upper left corner and a softer crease across the lower third. There is some creasing and a tear to the paper in the lower left quadrant. The frame is in fine condition.
