DescriptionA fine oil on canvas paper, depicting an upland area with a rapid river running in a mountainous setting in North Wales, near Aberglaslyn. Well-presented in a gilt mount and gilt effect frame, as shown. Signed and incsribed on the reverse.
In very good condition overall for a picture of this age. There is a small mark to the lower right corner. The frame has some minor scuffing.

Alfred Harford (1848-1915) was a member of the Royal West of England Academy. He born in Bristol and was known to paint scenes from rural life in oils. He frequently painted scenes in North Wales, submitting pictures of Betws-y-Coed, Pont-y-Pant and Beddgelert to the RWA annual exhibitions.
