He resided variously in West Penwith, Woodford and also painted in Brittany at Pont Aven and Concarneau. He exhibited at the Paris Salon, Grosvenor Gallery, Manchester Academy of Fine Arts, Royal Academy, Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, Royal Society of British Artists, Royal Institute of Oil Painters, Royal Hibernian Academy and Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool. A typical Victorian country scene by Conquest is in the collection of the City of London Corporation.
