There is some craquelure to the surface. There are two areas of restoration to the upper-left and lower-right quadrants. There are some slight chips to the frame. Overall in good condition.

Alexander Brownlie Docharty (1862-1940) was a landscape painter from Glasgow. He exhibited four times at the Royal Academy between 1882 and 1891. Examples of his work are in the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow, the Aberdeen Art Gallery and Museum, the collection of the National Trust, and the Paisley Museum and Art Gallery.
