Alexander Brantingham Simpson R.I. (fl.1904-1931). From a large collection of watercolours by a talented yet obscure artist. Many of the artworks depict Her Majesty’s ships and other boats in harbour or dry dock. Evidently a continental artist, Simpson also largely depicted village scenes throughout France, Spain and the United Kingdom. Some are signed and all are undoubtedly by the same hand.
