Am ethereal and dream like painting in the using the unusual technique of encaustic painting. The scene shows two lost looking children wandering through the snowy night in a Russian town. The artists has signed (in Russian) and dated to the lower right. There is an inscription in Russian by the artist at the reverse and a gallery label with the detainees of the artist and painting in English. On wove card.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including minor discolouration and a brown mark to the upper right quadrant. There is minor creasing at the lower left corner.
