A highly interesting 18th century engraving depicting surgeon's instruments of the time. These include 'Metacarpal Saw', and 'Cornea Knife'. Inscribed in plate with the publisher's details 'Published according to the Act of Parliament by Alex Higg at the Kings Arms, No. 6 Paternoster Row'. Unsigned. On laid.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including discolouration and foxing. Losses to the right edge of the paper. The paper has been strengthened to the reverse by the addition of paper strips that have been glued to the laid paper.
