A fine late 19th Century watercolour landscape showing a striking red sun, disappearing on the horizon of a coastal inlet. A church can be seen silhouetted to the right side. The artist has signed to the lower right corner and the painting has been presented in a gold mount. On wove.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. The mount has minor scuffing to the edges.

Artist Biography
Painter of coastal scenes ne James Albert Proctor (not Procter as in Johnson & Greutzner) the son of a mariner. Proctor was a member of the Liver Sketching Club and showed at the Royal Academy of Arts, Royal Cambrian Academy and Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool. His death was recorded in Hendon, London.
