Description

An interesting bromoil print of Charles Dicken's country home, Gad's Hill Place in Kent. The bromoil process is a variation on the oil print process, and was used widely in the early 20th century. The house was built in 1780 for a former Mayor of Rochester, and was bought by Dicken's in 1856. Signed and dated. On wove.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and small pin holes to the corners or the paper. With some light creasing to the corners of the paper.
