An expansive view of the English countryside by Nottingham-born artist Albert Dunington (1860-1928). A farmer leads his horse and cart along a rugged track whilst his son and dog walk alongside. Cottages and a church can be seen nestled in the valley further along the path, while the Thames stretches out in its meandering course beyond. Signed and dated to the lower centre. On canvas on stretchers.
Condition
Overall the condition is very good for a picture of this age. The artwork has undergone some restorative work, including two small canvas tear repairs and areas of overpainting. Discolouration and craquelure, as well as several abrasions along the lower margin.
