Description

A busy beach scene by a Lifeboat House in Hastings. After the original (1891), held in the collection of Hastings Museum and Art Gallery. Presented in a distressed gilt-effect wooden frame. There is a faint inscription to the lower-left edge and the name 'V. Pellegrin' inscribed to the lower-right edge. On canvas on stretchers.

Condition

There is some craquelure, surface dirt, discolouration to the varnish, and some small abrasions to the surface. There is a small area of restoration to the canvas at the centre of the upper edge.
